Liquid Silver

Originally created by Native American silversmiths, silver heshi or Liquid Silver jewelry is the understated cornerstone of Southwest fashion. Chic with your favorite t-shirt and jeans, or couture spilling over bare shoulders and silk, Liquid Silver is authentic Southwest style. This traditional Southwestern jewelry has grown popular around the world, and is often combined with colorful seed beads, Turquoise or facetted gemstones and pearls.
Made from tiny, fine sterling heshi beads, Liquid Silver strands are strung on durable beading cable or cord, creating the illusion of shimmering strands of spun silver.
Our Liquid Silver Collection includes single and multiple-strand Sterling Liquid Silver Necklaces, Bracelets and Earrings. You will find traditional looks, elegant simple pieces we love to layer and mix and match with in the Southwest and Liquid Silver with Coral, Onyx, Turquoise and other stones.
Our Liquid Silver jewelry is made in-house right here in Albuquerque, NM, so check back often for new designs!
Caring for Your Liquid Silver
We recommend you keep your Liquid Silver jewelry in a zip-lock plastic bag when you are not wearing it. It is Sterling Silver, and it will tarnish over time. Lay your longer necklaces in a flat figure-8 shape to avoid kinking.
Wiping your Liquid Silver jewelry with a soft cloth or a jewelry polishing cloth after you wear it, can help stave off tarnishing. You will notice that your Sterling Silver jewelry will tarnish faster if you live in a humid climate.
If your Liquid Silver jewelry is lightly tarnished, you can massage some Baking Powder into the strands with a soft cloth, pulling the strands gently downward. Once the strands appear clean, shake out the loose powder and buff with a clean soft cloth to restore luster.
For heavily tarnished Liquid Silver, we recommend the following steps.
  1. Combine ¼ part Sudsy Ammonia and ¼ part Mr Clean
*only use Sudsy Ammonia – regular ammonia will turn your silver black*
    1. If your LS does not have stones, allow it to soak for 2-15 minutes. Check often, until you see the desired color.
    2. If your liquid silver has stones, allow it to soak for no more than 2 minutes, checking for any obvious stone discoloration.
  2. Rinse in cold water
  3. Lay flat to dry on a clean towel, shaped in the original form.
  4. Allow 24 hours to dry.
  5. Buff with a soft cloth.
